Popular Nigerian singer, Joseph Akinwale, professionally known as Joeboy, shared his thoughts on Wizkid’s recent statement about not categorizing himself as an Afrobeat artist.
During an interview on The Big Friday Show with Reality TV star Tacha, Joeboy discussed his romantic relationship and musical versatility, emphasizing his focus on creating enjoyable music.
Regarding Wizkid’s statement, Joeboy explained that while Nigerian artists are often associated with Afrobeat, it doesn’t mean they can’t explore other genres.
He believes this perception limits artists and aims to change it by demonstrating versatility.
Joeboy expressed confidence in his ability to produce quality music across various genres and prioritizes creating music his fans can appreciate and vibe to, regardless of others’ opinions.
On the topic of his romantic life, Joeboy mentioned being in a relationship for over two years, highlighting mutual effort and reciprocity as important aspects for him.
