The family of Mr. Ibu announces the burial plans.

The family of the late actor, Mr. Ibu, has unveiled his burial plans, disclosing the date of his interment.

Following his demise on March 2, 2024, at the age of 62, the family revealed that Mr. Ibu’s final resting place will be in his hometown of Amuri, located in the Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State.

Endorsing the announcement, Mr. Ibu’s brother, Elder Sunday Okafor, emphasized that the beloved comic actor would be laid to rest with honor, akin to a hero.

“The Okafor family in Eziokwe Amuri, Nkanu West LGA in Enugu State wishes to honour the loving memory of our hero and a legend John Ikechukwu Okafor who even in death has left a legacy of love, laughter and liveliness.

“We would appreciate your esteemed presence as we lay to rest our son, husband, father, grandfather,brother, uncle and in-law on the 28th of June 2024.

“Kindly join us as we share the best and last moments with our icon.”

As outlined in the family statement, the burial proceedings will commence with a high-profile novelty match on Tuesday, June 25. The following day, Wednesday, June 26, will feature an event named Mr. Ibu’s Night, highlighted by a candlelight procession and live entertainment.

In Eziokwe Amuri, Nkanu West, a Christian wake will take place on June 27, followed by the funeral service on June 28.

The five-day funeral rites will culminate on Sunday, June 30, with a church Thanksgiving service attended by loved ones, acquaintances, and supporters.
