Utilizing his legal expertise, content creator and lawyer Timi Agbaje clarifies the discrepancy in the legal outcomes between crossdresser Bobrisky’s imprisonment and socialite Cubana Chief Priest’s bail.

Bobrisky was sentenced to six months in jail after admitting guilt to the EFCC’s accusation of naira abuse. Meanwhile, Cubana Chief Priest faced similar charges but was granted bail with a N10 million condition.

Agbaje, a law graduate, explains the legal distinction behind the differing punishments. Bobrisky pleaded guilty, leading to a clear path for sentencing. In contrast, Cubana Chief Priest didn’t admit guilt, leaving the case open.

In Bobrisky’s case, the court had two options: a fine or imprisonment, with the latter being chosen. However, for Cubana Chief Priest, bail was granted as the EFCC hadn’t provided evidence of the money’s source and serial numbers, as required by law.

Agbaje suggests another argument: the money seen in the video may not have been real, further complicating the case.
